Quick notes from your Mac’s notch

Capture the next thing, not an entire notebook

Use the scratchpad for a meeting action, a sentence you want to revise or a short list for the afternoon. Open the tools panel, choose Notes and type directly into the editor.

For example, before switching away from a document, write “Next: check the figures in section two.” When you return, that one line gives you a starting point. Keep long-term project records in your usual notes or document app. Momo’s scratchpad does not provide separate notebooks or collaborative editing.

Check that your note has saved

1. Type or paste the text into Notes.
2. Wait for the status to change from Saving… to Saved on this Mac.
3. Click the save-status text if you want to request a save immediately.

Edits autosave locally after a short pause in typing, and the saved scratchpad is loaded again when the app starts. The word counter is useful for a small draft or a short reply.

If you see a save failure, copy your text somewhere safe or retry before quitting. A local save is not a cloud backup. Notes in Momo are not advertised as syncing between your Mac and phone.

Use notes alongside a focus session

Write one outcome in Notes, then start a countdown or Pomodoro session in Focus. When you finish, return to the scratchpad to mark the next action in plain text. This keeps a small work plan near the timer without requiring a project-management setup.

For call notes, turn on Quiet Mode before the meeting if you want to suppress Momo’s reactions and notifications. If you are sharing the whole display, use presentation mode when the panel should be hidden.

Know when to move the text elsewhere

Move finished material into the document, task list or notes app where you keep permanent records. The scratchpad is one continuous text area, so replacing its contents replaces the working note.

Choose a fuller notes system when you need folders, attachments, revision history or shared access. Momo is useful as a place to capture the small thought that would otherwise interrupt your current task.
